Yamaha xjr1300 racer

What does this do to the XJR ? As well as making it noticeably more uncomfortable to ride, it changes the whole bike’s attitude. The carbon cowling and front fender, racer tank and clip-on bars show off the air-cooled engine. It has a smaller tank and headlight, a black. At the time I hadn’t had much experience riding an inline four, let alone anything with a capacity of over 900cc.


After the initial awkward period of getting accustomed to the weight and finding the optimum rev range, I was smitten. Whoever thought it was a good idea to put such a big engine in a bike. They’ve left the basics alone, like the engine and chassis and given it a facelift. Not only does it look great, it’s smooth, fast capable and cracking value for money.


The big inline four offered 1horsepower, good for a quarter mile time of 10. Wow I was crazy after I seen this bike. It had an impressive big-block character. It also provided its riders with massive power at very low revs.


It connected with bike lovers instantly. They loved its archetype looks. Fashion is a funny old thing. The special edition model is a cafe racer variant made with parts from Yamaha ’s parts and accessories catalog. The Racer adds a carbon fiber fairing, a short carbon front fender and clip-on handlebars to deliver a ’70s-inspired cafe racer look.
