Canoeing wye valley

We are located on the bridge at Glasbury and next to our café The River Café. We have a fleet of canoes , kayaks, double kayaks and accommodation to sleep from to 26! So come for breakfast, have a day on the river and return to great food and a comfy bed.

All Activities are run from our private riverside centre here in Symonds Yat East. A half day canoeing trip takes approximately 3-hours and a full day trip takes around 6-hours including a stop for lunch. Canadian canoe , two or three seater.

Perhaps you are thinking of getting away from the rat-race, with your family, your friends, your colleagues, maybe hiring a open canoe for a few hours, taking in the fantastic scenery through Symonds Yat or even get away from it all for a few days. It’s meandering and occasionally tumbling waters, flowing through idyllic countryside and spectacular wooded valleys are a delight to explore by canoe and kayak. It’s the perfect setting for a river trip and thousands of people take their first paddle strokes in a canoe or kayak every summer. Buoyancy aids must be worn ​at all times​whilst canoeing on the river Wye, even if you’re an Olympic-standard swimmer, Children must never be left in a canoe unattended.

Prices include, canoe, helmets (if needed), buoyancy aids and paddles. Transport up river is also provided in the price. We offer half day and full day hire. You can hire a canoe for any period from hours to days, so you paddle away at your own pace.

We run climbing, abseiling and caving sessions on and under Symonds Yat Rock. Three days meandering gently downstream gives you the opportunity to sink into the exquisite scenery and rhythm of the river. All canoes come with paddles, buoyancy aids and helmets.

Spray decks and skegs are available for the kayaks if required. Your guide takes you on a relaxing two day meander down river in this lush environment. We’re delighted to advise on routes and stopping places along the way where you can be fed and watered.

Our base is located right beside the river at the Byecross farm campsite, Preston on Wye. From only £per person, we welcome canoeists, families and groups. We are based in Hereford city centre and cover all stretches of the River Wye.
