Key fob not working

What causes the key fob to not work? What does it mean if your car key is not working? Why is my car remote key not working? How to diagnose a car remote not working?

In most cases, the key can start the car but not work as a keyless entry remote. Generally speaking, when Mercedes key fob is not working , it’s because either because the key is defective or the All Activity Module (AAM) is not recognizing the key signal, or it is not receiving signal due to an antenna issue. If you have a spare remote entry key fob or smart fob , try using that fob to unlock the door. If it works, you need to replace the other key fob with a new one. This may require towing the vehicle to a service facility or car dealer for diagnosis and repair.


I say, the keys and batteries are only months old.
